Ventilation control

If you use a radon sensor to control ventilation, remember that the displayed radon level is not an instantaneous value in the same way as temperature. Because radon decays randomly and it takes some time for radon to enter the sensor, you should expect the reported radon level to have a delay of about 40 minutes.

For that reason, it is better to set a threshold for a given time in the morning: if that radon level is exceeded, start the ventilation earlier so that the radon level in the room has dropped below a target level by the time staff begin using the space.

You can also do the reverse: always start ventilation at a fixed time, but skip that action if the radon level is lower than, for example, 200 Bq/m³.
